Beating out cross-town ice cream rival Aglamesis Brothers on Food Network’s “Food Feuds,” Graeter’s is known for its colossal multi-shaped chunks of chewy chocolate chips – made by drizzling liquid chocolate into the mixture just before it’s finished – which are sprinkled throughout many of its flavors. Since 1870, the shop has whipped up its dense, creamy concoctions using the French Pot process of folding fresh cream and egg custard into a spinning, two-gallon freezer.
Known for its all-time best selling flavor, Black Raspberry Chip, Graeter’s also serves up options like Elena’s Blueberry Pie, Chocolate Coconut Almond Chip and three types of sorbet. If you’re not in the mood for a scoop, be sure to try Graeter’s handmade candy or homemade baked goods.
