Dave Rife goes incognito in his family-owned White Castle burger chain in an episode of the CBS television show “Undercover Boss.” The episode’s highlights include a stint at one of the chain’s bakeries, where Rife accidentally ruins thousands of hamburger buns. White Castle is known for its “sliders” -- inexpensive (these are the original mini-burgers) square hamburgers with five holes, steam-grilled on a bed of onions. Opened in 1921, White Castle is the country’s oldest fast food burger chain and the first to reach one million and one billion burgers sold. Columbus visitors can sneak a peek at the chain’s headquarters on Goodale Street, just west of the city’s Arena District, or grab a slider and fries at one of the area’s 15 White Castle locations. Beyond Ohio, you can satiate your crave with a box of frozen sliders.
